For lack of catalogs, what my club (LUCNY) uses are the
small folded inserts from LEGO sets. Specifically, I mean the little mail-in
catalog request cards, the mail-in Lego club cards, and the Harry Potter Lego
posters. We have no problem accumulating hundreds of these and the cost to
provide them is zero. The mini-catalogs from sets are an option, too, but they
do not specifically feature Lego Train items or give information on how to
obtain items.
GardenSlug should ask Jeff
Stabile if he has a supply of these items. Between now and your event date, I
bet he will have no problem accumulating some for the club to give out.
A quick call to LEGO Shop at Home may reveal a box or two of the train poster
still available. Call during business hours and ask for the reception desk or
to speak with a Fullfillment Specialist. Chances are, a savvy LEGO operator
will know exactly what you are talking about when you ask about the posters.
If the train posters are out of stock, ask about old S@H catalogs. No doubt
they have some left. There is no mechanism in place to distribute them, so you
may have to sweet-talk a few people to get some. Shipping may be on your
nickel; if they won’t ship you may need to travel to Enfield to take possession
of some personally.
