I agree with you, but I'm not sure that this would be any more clear to the
average person that this isn't Lego-sponsored, without further explanatory
text.

I'm not terribly concerned about the clarity of the entry.  Though
yes, it would be nice to have us mentioned by name, its not absolutely
necessary, because our events themselves will mention us by name, and
so will our literature.  Eg, ldraw.org is printing up a HUGE table
skirt vinyl sign with the site logo [brick image] 'ldraw.org,
Centralized LDraw Resources' for our table.  And i'm sure GMLTC will
have their own signage.

Bill Anton, the producer for Kidvention (independent production
company) has asked me for Adobe Illustrator formatted artwork to print
up on signage that will be official to the Kidvention, to place on the
paths to the area we will be in.

IMO, the average Lego fan; parent or child, probably won't be aware
that there is a serious community of enthusiasts before they _come_ to
our displays.  The literature and demonstrations that [ldraw.org at
the least] is planning will make it clear that our groups are
completely unofficial (for our sake, as well as TLC's) and point them
to pertinent URLs including LUGNET, as Todd mentioned we would be
doing in his post the other day.  Of course we will point them to
ldraw.org for information on getting them started with LDraw.

I could even put up a /kidvention/ page for people from the Kidvention
to come to and see some more introductory resources and get them
launched - specificially geared towards our visitors at the event.
This is dependent on if TLC would let us use the name 'kidvention' in
our URL, provided we have appropriate disclaimers, and a link to the
Kidvention site I would assume.

(...) Hey, that's kind of interesting from a community-strategic point of view... What you've got there with the signage is an opportunity to let people know -- or at least hint at -- the fact that LDraw is a fan-created and fan-run project/system (...)
