Scroll about half way down.

Am I the only one who finds this both almost as disturbing as exciting?
I realize I'm looking at the page several days after it was originally
mentioned, so maybe the text has changed, but the text I see doesn't
mention BayLUG or GMLTC or ldraw.org by name at all -- in fact, they make
it sound like LEGO thought it all up themselves and fan-created clubs and
software don't even exist.  :-(  :-(

I find it disturbing that I can only view this with IE for some reason.  I have
to clear my Netscape Cache but at the moment I can't view it with Netscape.

As to your issue with the text...  I guess I agree with you to some extent
although I think this relationship between the adult fan community and TLC is
very new and I think the kinks need to be worked out with that relationship.
Therefore I guess I am will in to give them the benefit of the doubt and give
some slack.

That doesn't mean I think TLC couldn't do better but I think we need to give
them a chance and we need to do our jobs to make sure that they know that it is
important to us to be separate entities so that we can do the things we want to
do and not what they find it appropriate for us to do.  They also need to know
it is important for us to have a separate identity and to acknowledge that
identity.

(...) Ya, well said! What I hope we as a community can help LEGO avoid is (to coin a phrase) "fansploitation" -- i.e., taking advantage of or exploiting things that fans did which they wish they'd thought of or done first, since they're getting into (...)
