  Re: Line Following & Chibots

(...) My whole list for the Chibots events will require 21 light sensors. I'll be doing some sensor swapping. Steve (21 years ago, 23-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Line Following & Chibots

(...) Yes - it is my operating system of choice now. Of course, I still have some stuff in NQC, but anything new is BrickOS and database...I am sure I will run into something that I actually have to code eventually. (...) Since I have limited time (...) (21 years ago, 23-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, FTX)

  Re: Line Following & Chibots

(...) Well, you got me beat - I'm running around 40 cm/sec on my course (4+ meters with at least 16 6" radius turns, including a "L-R-L-R" section as well as a couple of "R-L-L-R" sections. And even then, it still looses the line on rare occassions (...) (21 years ago, 23-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, FTX)

  Line Following & Chibots

Well, I may not be competetive yet for first place. But, I am pretty happy that I am running a robot around a 5 meter track with lots of S-curves. And, the robot is doing laps at 55 cm/sec pretty consistently. Unfortunately, this robot has hit its (...) (21 years ago, 23-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, FTX)

  January Meeting Pics

Hardly worth a post since it's been so long, but I figure maybe some might appreciate these pics of our gathering earlier in the year. (URL) Brickshelf> --Ryan (21 years ago, 21-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.lugola, FTX)

  Re: Frapper

(...) John, Considering you've never attended a meeting, but your stuff gets displayed all the time, I think you're fulfilling your obligations. :) Of course, the map shows a whole handful of members in the Lafayette LEGO Robotics Club, but only one (...)   Re: Frapper

(...) Simpler to ask for forgiveness. I've already added my pin to the map :) Now how much trouble am I in? What are the obligations of membership ... JB (21 years ago, 20-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Frapper

(...) The club's been around a few years, but so far, to officially become a member, all you have to do is add your name to the above map. :) Considering five minutes after our first meeting, you were running a sumo robot at BrickFest, yes, I think (...) (...) Hey Steve, can you let me know club requirements??? I would love to join... does having my finger prints on your bricks count??? Janey "When I grow up, I want to build robots, Red Brick" (21 years ago, 20-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) What an excellent idea! It has completely flat sides, so no problems there. What sort of resolution do you want? (I think I can go up to 1200x1200 dpi without crashing the computer) Regarding the underside structure, the sides are completely (...)   Re: Future GBCs

(...) Yes, although I was hoping to come up with a way of doing it using the switching RCX's "spare" in/outputs. (...) I was thinking more along the lines of identifying GBC trains. If there were three trains along the mainline, two non-GBC with 6 & (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Future GBCs

(...) ... (...) I was just thinking about this. For non-GBC train loops, one RCX could control the whole siding (detect train, throw switch, power track, watch for oncoming trains...) (...) At the train show last weekend, my train had 2 GBC cars, (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Future GBCs

(...) (OK, I've got to say my first impression was of an octopus on LSD, but actually after looking at it a bit that's a good diagram for this stuff. Thanks, John!). (...) Also, it means that RCX #2 is completely independant of RCX #3, meaning each (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Future GBCs

(...) Things were not looking good when Payton first touched the ball and the score was 10-0... But, it all worked out in the end. (...) Yes, this will work. It looks like a good way to divide the tasks between RCXs. We can NOT connect 1 light (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Future GBCs

Since I couldn't build tonight because I don't have a tv to watch the colts at my lego table, I worked on trying to figure out how to reduce the number of RCXs we need to control 2 GBC loading & unloading spurs. I came up with this (when it goes (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) Ooh. Well, that might be fun to model, in any case! (...) Do you have a scanner? If you do, you could scan it and send me the digital file - that would actually be better than an oblique photograph. I can then import the image file into (...)   Future GBCs

Running the GBC at the GTX train show in Indy was fun. I'll try to get pictures posted soon. We're already planning for the next GTX show in January, and the Children's expo in Feb. One thing we talked about was trying to add more automation (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)
