Was there ever a second point?  I know, silly question.  :)

Chris

heck if I continue at this rate, I can finish this robot, and start on
the Jan pipe racer game.

how hard can THAT be... I mean, Steve entered that game... and won.

Hey, I pretty much won that with luck.

First, I got lucky because Doug didn't get to finish his entry.  One or two more
revisions, and you'd be talking about how hard it was because Doug's beast
stomped us all.  Who said a robot held together with string couldn't be strong?

Second (see how that works, you have a first, then a second...)  I got lucky
because I didn't have to go against Derek.  I think he withdrew because ran out
of znap flex-axles.  I guess those things will snap [znap] if you put too much
torque on them for too long.

Third, I got lucky that the turns weren't any sharper.  I think David's robot
(while slow) will be able to navigate the much sharper turns in Pipe Racer Pro
(tm).  I was also lucky when he forfeited to me in the second round.  (he wanted
to see what would happen if he started 1/2 way)

Next, I got lucky because Gab didn't start building on his entry until the day
of the event.  If he had spent about twice as long (8 hours?!) working on his
robot, there's no telling how good it would have been.

And, I got lucky when John had some problems on the occasional corner.
Sometimes, his would hang up on the rough edges of the connectors.  I think John
had the nicest looking robot.  It was very simple.  Even if he did have to take
it 1/2 way apart to attach it to the pipe.  :)  John's entry was my favorite.

Also, I got lucky when they decided to change the course for the third (or
fourth) time.  Had they stuck with the second-to-last course, my robot may have
pulled the track apart [again] and fallen to it's death.  Of course, once it
fell off the track, it would lose because it's not on the pipe...

Finally, I got lucky you didn't show up.

Some days, I just get lucky.

Steve

OK.... lets do some housekeeping. 1. based on a personal and private phone call, someone.... lets call him Bruce. S. no, that's not right... lets call him BS for short. so BS calls me and all but cries that this game is TOO HARD. I politely ask him (...) (21 years ago, 20-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
