The good news is:
-The video is done. A copy of the tape is on its way to Todd Thuma. Knowing
Canada Post, it'll get there late. Bastards. I'm still waiting on a package
from Steve in Indiana--I hope this isn't evidence of Canada Post's regular
speed.
-The MPEG I uploaded this morning is corrupt. So you guys can't see it until
tonight.
-I bought a Gardena sprayer after YEARS of fiddling around with bad sprayers.
We had a pile which were made of metal-they get freezing cold after a few
minutes. Then we had one which was plastic: Ever wonder how products are "cost
reduced"? The last sprayer I had they decided to remove several components
WHICH HELD THE HOSE FITTING ON. At 90 psi (or whatever our hose puts out-it's a
lot, above national average,) the sprayer literally "uncapped" itself right off
the hose.
I had this same problem with lawn sprinklers-used to buy the no name $8 ones
from Walmart, they'd break in like a month and I'd buy another. About five
years ago, I bought a Gardena Excellent230 for like $39. Everyone thought I was
crazy-it was the BMW of sprinklers. It hasn't jammed or stopped working since,
and we left it out every winter too.
So I got this:
http://www.gardena.com/INT/application/INT?origin=itemsummary.jsp&event=link(details)&wlcs_catalog_item_sku=01030-20_CAen&wlcs_catalog_category_id=PK40103_CAen
Only $19, no leaks, has four different spray types including a nice gentle one
for wetting down the Accord for washing and a really strong single jet for
pushing off dirt.
My only complaint with the Gardena system is that the stupid "Water Stop"
connector leaves pressure in the hose if you detach a fixture. There's no way
to unpressurize it unless you unscrew the stop off, or unscrew the hose from the
tap.
-The car is washed now. There are a few little nicks here and there from road
chips...sigh. I can't wait to see the damage it'll get on the 10 hour drive at
speed to BrickFest.
