Really?
I'm 'lowest man on totem pole' at Tech Support Analyst, which is a glorified
way of saying I answer the phone all day and walk people thru how to send e-mail
Actually it's a good gig if you can get it--leaves much time to surf and
compose e-mail
beyond that, i find that, for systems tech, it's the company that makes the
day worth getting thru--i was SysAdmin at my previous company--solely
responsible for entire network/systems, and I hated it 'cause the RDFO and
the CEO were, bluntly, idiots who didn't think that systems were worth much
to the company.
Now I'm just 'techie guy', and I get to go home at 5, instead of late hours,
and I actually don't mind coming into work every day--sure I don't make the
decisions for hte company, but i am responsible to make sure 500+ systems
are all up and running...
Other things--I get to explore 'new tech' on the company's credit
card--"Netscreen? Sure we'll give that a shot at a branch! How much? No
problem!"
Let the VPN sites come a-rollin' in!!
That's good 'nuff for me :)
