The Gord is good. The Gord knows how to handle the foolish and the unwise.

Eh, they pay me well. I shut up and never say, "Oh you foolish beings--why
do you task me so!" It makes a good 'headspace' for dealing with other
avenues of my life, such as o.t-d ;)
The one I got last week was one of my own in the IS dept was having
difficulty walking thru a user installing a printer. Those are the ones
where I really want to lose it--someone in the IS dept can't walk someone
thru how to install an HP4 on LPT1. "Wait," I say, "Don't you just plug it
in and turn it on?"
That one drove me crazy 'cause I'm sitting here at my desk, listening to the
conversation one cubicle away, for like an hour and a half... "Click here...
click there... do this, do that...."
I had to drive to Barrie just to undo all the mess that was done. Then I
plugged in the printer and, oh wait! Windows 2000 just detected an HP4! Done.
35 cents a kilometer and a free lunch are the only things that made me happy
that day.

Nope, just knowing that at 5:01 I get in my POC pickup, drive home, and sit
my heinie amongst 500k+ of little pieces of ABS keeps me sane and (mostly)
rational.
