Thanks Michel.

Chris Leach of MichLTC/LUG asked us about this a while ago, and the truth
is, I'm not really sure we're up to it.  I asked our group if anyone was
interested in spearheading this project, but I get any takers.

organizing and hosting a Lego presence at the NMRA annual convention.  If
you start now, you should have time to see if TLG is willing to subsidize
transportation for any other LUGs or LTCs.

I think MichLUG is bringing up a significant layout to the show and is
representing Lego.

If RTL toronto would be willing to take on the helm, it would offer a great

This sounds like a great idea, except for the problem of rtlToronto
coordinating the entire thing--there's just no bandwidth to do such a thing
in here.

opportunity for a display with a Canadian theme, perhaps called "Canada,
from sea to sea, with Lego".

That would be incredible if we could coordinate and build such a layout.

A layout such as described with a definite theme, might be more readily
accepted by NMRA, and might have more appeal for TLG.  With a relatively
limited number of clubs participating it may be easier for TLG to fit in
their budget. On the negative side, we might antagonize our southern
brethren, and never again be able to participate in the annual NMRA
conventions, which are usually held in the US.

I wouldn't think there is a negative side to this.  The Americans have no
exclusive lock on the NMRA, that said, I'm not sure we have enough interest
in it to sustain a showing anyways.

Thanks for your time, I hope I didn't stick my nose too much in something
that isn't really my business!  Looking forward to hearing your comments.

No, it's very much welcome--  In fact, it's a kick in the pants for us to
think about it, which we've really push on the back burner.  well, let me
put it back out to the rtlToronto audience-are we interested (we being:
JeffVW, JeffE, Derek, Dave, yer core rtlToronto/train audience) in doing
such a thing?

Calum
