Chris is right, these events are pretty boring.  I mean, in the last six
months, I've entered five of those "same-old-anyone-can-do-them sumo"
events, and I just end up with more crap to store in my LEGO room.  Twice in
that time, I had to figure out how to re-organize my collection to store
another RIS, and the other times I had to add in a bunch of other parts that
used to be trophies.

I don't get it.... your bragging because you won several  events that
can be solved with a battery box and a polarity switch.

;)

And, while we're at it, a really good group begins with solid leadership,
right.

I agree.... whole heartedly!!!

Anyone else wanna be in charge??

I nominate Derek.  How hard can it be?  I do it.

;)

Well, I would question the skills of anyone who would post a message
to a LEGO newsgroup with the heading "I can't build"

Again. this is true.  BUT the meat of the post goes on to explain my
penchant for sorting. its a plea for help really.

I'm sick.  I need to be surrounded by others who build with lego to help
me.  Wait. isn't my next door neighbour also a lego fanatic?? yes he is.
(and a real life physicist, which means I can go over at any time and
ask for a cup of sugar and the theory of relativity)

Chris

see, my task as leader helped bring the fun factor of this LUG back up
to speed... and at the end of the day isn't  that what a leader is
supposed to do???
