Yes, TOS was brilliant in concept only. TNG was *far* superior, although if you
watch early episodes from the first season, it is a hoot. It is extremely
interesting (to me, anyway) to watch the first season sequentially and literary
watch the show find its groove.
I was never able to watch DS9 (and it didn't help that it started up *before*
TNG ended-- couldn't divide my loyalty:-) I did, however, get hooked on it when
an enterprising <sorry> local station ran it and TNG every night in syndication.
Its best episodes were easily on par with TNG.
I was very skeptical about STV when it first came out, but I gave it the benefit
of the doubt, and I'm glad I did. It was brilliant; the last episode was
possibly the best series finale ever-- MUCH better than M*A*S*H* or Steinfeld.
I love it every bit as much as I do TNG.
Now the jury is still out on STE. I want so much to like it, but it is a little
slow going here in the early stages. But I'll stick with it and see what
happens-- God I'd kill for Q to drop in on Cap'n Archer! ;-)
