is this the same 32 long in this set, as in the hockey ones?

Also, I thought the hockey axles had "stops" part way down the axle.

(...) 32-long axles, and there is NO stop, it's a normal axle. The upcoming large technic crane seems to use one too. Seems like it's made of the same type of ABS as the others, so at that lenght its relatively flexible, and twistable. The best use (...) (19 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
