  Is Black Hair Brunette?

I'm sorting Lego (not really, but I figured I could say that to make this on topic) and I was wondering. Is Black hair considered Brunette or is it a separate category like red heads and blonds? Derek (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I dunno, I put all the hairs in the same container marked "Hairs". I also have a compartment for "Animals" which includes cats, parrots, snakes as well as a "Chris Magno" compartment with fire, guns, knives, TNT tiles, etc. Calum (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) hmm... I have a Chris Mango drawer. It's clearly not the same, as you can see from the spelling. I use it to store broken pieces, (I can't throw away LEGO, even if they're broken) and other things that add nothing to the value of my LEGO (...)   Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) I've currently got 746 minifigs accounted for, up to another 150 unaccounted for. Given all the hats and helmets that still leaves a lot of hair. And compared to some I don't really have allot of minifigs. But that's not really the point as (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) _I_ think so. (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) While "brunet" comes from "brun", the French word for "brown", it has come to mean a person with dark-brown or black hair. "Brunette" typically refers to females, much as "blonde" usually means a female "blond". (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) As a "chick" I must add my 2 cents here, (although all of my head-wear, hats included, are stored happily together in one drawer) brunette only refers to dark brown. Although the word brunette can also refer to colour of complexion as well as (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) You see that's what I thought, but most of the people around work think it includes black hair. So I always use the example of would you consider Asian hair brunette? Then I usually get the answer "I don't know. Would you go away and let me (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) Well apparently most people you work with have no colour sense, have never worked in a hair salon, or are really just trying to give you "the" quick answer. I, on the other hand would never tell you to go away, because I find any excuse, NOT (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) Janey is correct, according to my NLSBO and my google excursion. Brunette is dark brown (not black and not light brown). So the question is where on the brown spectrum, does light end and dark start ? What do we call black-haired people ? (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

YA know, I still READ the group!!! just cause I am in the middle of renovating my kitchen, and have no time to do anything does not mean you guys have free rein to run rough shod over the place.   Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

(...) Websters says it ranges from dark-brown to black. My initial thought was that it ranged from medium-brown (anything dark enough to not be in the sandy-brown/dishwater-blonde range) to dark-brown, and that black fell into its own category. (...)   Re: Is Black Hair Brunette?

In my experience, females tend to claim straight "redhead" if they have the slightest reddish tint (except strawberry-blondes), and men seem to only acknowledge (...) (...) How people describe themselves as opposed to how they are described are 2 different things ;^) I have heard people say that a woman has auburn hair, but I can't remember anyone claiming it for themselves either. Maybe I need to do a poll ! (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
