Is Black Hair Brunette?

I'm sorting Lego (not really, but I figured I could say that to make
this on topic) and I was wondering.  Is Black hair considered Brunette
or is it a separate category like red heads and blonds?

(...) While "brunet" comes from "brun", the French word for "brown", it has come to mean a person with dark-brown or black hair. "Brunette" typically refers to females, much as "blonde" usually means a female "blond". (20 years ago, 14-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) As a "chick" I must add my 2 cents here, (although all of my head-wear, hats included, are stored happily together in one drawer) brunette only refers to dark brown.
