  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Sad thing is I learned CPM techniques in first year, but the best implementation I've ever seen is in our GPS lab, where they put on the whiteboard whoever's behind the 8 ball. It gets people working FAST, and no need for CPM charting either. (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Wouldn't it be useful, since you could avoid the other robot, and not have to bash your way through it? (...) Mmmmmm, sleep. "I too will go home, for sleep" :) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Look, we've been over this before, no non Lego parts, especially not the HiTechnic Christina Aguilera module. Sheesh. Calum PS-if we tape it pre T and single true path, I think it's hard, but not excurciatingly hard. Basically it's time for a (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) So Calum you are suggesting that the shortest path would be the marked path, but if a robot goofs up, and turns the wrong way, it can continue, and take a longer, route that will still lead it to the critical path. Calum, are you being (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Okay, what about this: 1---...---T------2 ^^^| | | | 3 Entering joint at 1, white tape is ONLY on the half of the pipe which has the correct path 3. We tape around 180 degrees of the pipe (ie, a C shape). This also allows the robot to align (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) I'm actually REALLY looking forward to a game like that. Put those 9751 Dacta Control Labs to some use. I think everyone has one now. Calum (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) As Calum announced at the BrickFest event, (I believe) the plan for Pipe Racers Pro is the addition of y's and tees. -Rob. (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Yup. That's always been the deal with rtl15, to be able to traverse T or Y shapes. But previously, the rtl15 competition was to be one true path and the other path would always terminate. I'm suggesting we don't terminate, but instead offer (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Oh, that's easy - just use a four-bit BCD TapeCode, assigning a 3-digit rotational position about theta to find the correct pipe exit point. Piece of cake. In addition to playing "What a Girl Wants", all robots must bake a cake, and hop on one (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto15 January issues

(...) Ah ha! Here's where we differ - I don't see the problem :P You read the markers are you approach the T joint, and expect to know which way to go with the knowledge aquired. My markers are _after_ the T, and they just tell you if you're going (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
