  TRU specials....

I seen Toys R Us having a special from the 2nd of October until the 18th. This is probably not geared for the robotic techies since TRU rarely has any clearance on Mindstorm/Technic items, with exception of the RIS sets summer of 2001. I think they (...)   Re: Last Night's Building Session

(...) I think it looks very cute... I think adding too many cars on the back, and it will look mean. 3 cars would be fine. My first impression of the rendering is a very small street car. But that is only my opinion. Ben (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: RtlTrain 4 Rolling Stock

(...) I have several road plates, and I have some ideas that I wouldn't mind doing. I recently got Main Street (6390) and would love to do a "modernization" of it. Maybe do a town scene like those previous....sans the pink. I think another Train (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Technic Beams anyone....

Oh, don't be facetious, Chris: With a little effort, you could have found out that you also get: 218 Blue Technic Pin 1/2 (Ref) 15 Black Technic Pin Long with Friction (Ref) Now BLUE Technic half-pins? Cool! Those've got to be worth at least $1 each (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Jeff, nice... uh, train. and to think, when I first met you you were doing GREAT things like this bi-ped walker powered with muscle wire.... (URL) nice train. Chris (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Technic Beams anyone....

(...) Jeff, thanks.... I saw this and was wondering if it would make it to this group. :) 66 grey beams..... divided by the $500 price tag..... that's about $7.50 each. ummmm, i think i can do better than that. :) Feel free to post pics of the thing (...)   Re: Technic Beams anyone....

(...) Well, I was going to get the Metroliner kit as well as the Santa Fe kit, but I just might get this instead... I'll have to debate more... So what's with the 28 magnets? Are the magnets holding the two halves together? I'm very curious how the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Last Night's Building Session

I'm so excited, Last night I broke the ten-year drought and actually built (wait for it...) some rolling stock! Woo hoo! I always wind up getting in over my head on the terrain, and leave the rolling stock to the last minute + 1, and wind up (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  RtlTrain 4 Rolling Stock

OK, I'm back in the saddle. I had a short (robotics-related) distraction, but that's over, and the therapy is going fine, thank you. So, back to trains: We need to nail down a time for rtlTrain4. If we don't do this (as Calum has pointed out), we'll (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: help Chris name his kid....was something else.

Sounds good, Steve. I hope I'll be able to go to the next big event also. I've missed the last 2 major Robotic events due to other obligations. Anyways. What about Francis Xavier for a boy's name. Flip the last name to the front and you got Magno (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  ECFG Talk Demos

Hi folks, I'm apparently going to be giving the Building Competition Robots talk at ECRG (the contest Bruce and Rob are in) in a few weeks.   Re: help Chris name his kid....was something else.

Well, Chris, I wouldn't suggest Kurt. That name was taken two weeks ago. (9/23 - 7lbs 6oz, 21in.) I think that means I'm all clear for the next rtl roadtrip. Another name high on our list was Kyle. If we had a girl, it would have been Aliceanne (...) (22 years ago, 7-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] October Dinner at Swiss Chalet

(...) The Technic Space Shuttle won't fit into a show box (unless I get a really big pair of work boots soon, and even then, I don't think it'll fit..) So how much 'wiggle room' do I have?
