Re: entertaining spectators -- trash talk

(...) Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris…Confused as always…I won block stackers (remember a 9 block stack vs your 1 or 2 block stack)…Your thinking of that insignificant ‘get your blocks off off my side’ contest. I think Dave 'won' that one but, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: entertaining spectators -- trash talk

!!!GAME ON!!! (...) that's what you must have done when you coded your block stacker, if I recall it was you who showed up all forlorn and depressed crying that his RCX was broken. Geesh, It was ME who "fixed" your "broken" rcx by flashing new (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

Just to show off my ignorance, i wonder if it is as simple as opening up the "box" and parallel 1 or 2 ir LEDs, off the main LED. YES i know that, that would be more current draw, and maybe the Tower circuit was not designed for that, BUT being a (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Point Motor Instructions

Hi folks, I still occasionally get requests for information on my old automatic point motor. Well, I've long since moved to a more compact and reliable model, and after the rtlToronto Train3 show last weekend, I've decided to post the instructions (...)   Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) No, I haven't had the fun of married life just yet :) But I'm not downloading with BBRC, I'm just sending out messages. Like, the Mindstorms Remote Control only sends, it's not smart enough to receive, right? This is the same thing as what (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) You're not married, if you were, you would know what append when someone speek and the other doesn't answer ;-) a download have to be coordinated, exchange of info both way... (...) that is an interesting point here, this solution migth work (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) Another thing you might want to think about, if we've got a few extra IR towers around - really, you're just trying to improve the coverage of the transmission elements. A spare IR tower has a set of transmission elements. So.. what would it (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  bus fun

As I posted earlier, I bought a soccer bus and a bunch of knights kingdom sets...(4 defense archers and a king leo)... in memory of Train3 (AKA rtl BUS 1), I decided to modify the new bus I received... (despite the slight disappointment of my (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) Okay, but I only want to send-the BBRC software only sends AFAIK, so I wonder if that's still an issue. What you're saying is that the tower interactive on initialization with the host PC-I wonder of this is the case with BBRC. Is the IR (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: entertaining spectators

(...) You already know this, of course, but for the benefit of those that don't... watch out for hysteresis... the train motor motion will need to be sensed independently. Still, what an interesting application if you do it! (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: entertaining spectators

(...) Of course Chris deserves it (...) Consider it down, my friend... (...) I *own* LEGO bricks-- I don't care what form they come in... (...) I was thinking about doing the x axis of my 'bot on train rails. Maybe I'll redesign my 'bot to do just (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: entertaining spectators

(...) a) I'm really glad to hear you're interested. I think it's a good project to get started onto Mindstorms with and not too hard to get into it. b) I'm not going to put anything up in terms of a formal date, I think we may do a test session (...)   Re: entertaining spectators

Hi Dave, You know, I was only going after Chris cause he started it (and of course, he deserves it in a major way)…but now you’ve gone and thrown that gauntlet down. Firstly, I’m not even sure if the rules allow me to discuss technical stuff with (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  additional reinforcements for BrickWARZ

this is to mainly Richard: I got 4 more defense archers (with 3 more that are still MIA - I ordered them via E-bay) I also bought a King Leo set (no, not the castle...) :( to the townies/trainheads: I bought an additional soccer bus so I can make MY (...)   Re: entertaining spectators

(...) Are you going to put the details up for the service pack? I think I might try to enter the fray with a player design, if someone writes up the code... unless I get brave and use the mindstorm software.... Ben (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

(...) It'd be difficult - because the tower "powers down" after inactivity, the computer needs to "ask" it whether it's alive before sending data. And if it's not, no data will be sent. If you look at the firmdl & dll programs from legOS, you'll see (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dual IR tower output

Hi Calum, nice try, but you migth have some trouble. first the IR tower like any RS-232 equipment also transmit back to the computer, It migth work if you split only the signal going from computer to IR Tower the problem that migth arise is if (...)   Dual IR tower output

Here's a dumb question. Does anyone know if I attach two IR towers with a Y splitter on the serial port that both towers will transmit? I want to guarantee transmission across a playfield from two or more towers for this rtl10.1SP2 RobotSoccer (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: entertaining spectators

(...) Oh, and one more point for high tauntage factor--I'm doing the whole thing with 1 (one, uno, less than 2 or more) RCX, *and* my bot's not much bigger than the 32x32 baseplate. So there -- Nyaah Nyaah Nyaah!!! Dave Pretend I'm not getting into (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
