Re: SW minifigures for Town figs

Hey Calum, Would it be at all possible for you to set aside a few Capes and Obiwan's brown hood-piece from the Gungan sub (Cause I don’t even have one!) for me upon our meeting at Mel’s or for T3 (should I be unable to make it tomorrow) I'll have my (...)   Pics of my bot

Chris was asking about pics, so here they are: (URL) called "xyzzy". It's not quite finished yet, the entire grid needs to be moved over about 6 studs, and i still need to hook up two light sensors, AND it still needs programming, BUT IT WILL PICK (...)   Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) Excellent. (...) From my perspective I don't find the 15 block height to be out of proportion. My "GO Train" cars are exactly 13 blocks high. The 2 block clearance looks about right when they go into a tunnel. However I seem to be the only one (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) The *only* reason why rtlToronto is organized at all is thanks to the work of Calum and Chris. They make it look easy. The rest of us are intermittent members that show up :) How can you plan around that? Ohhh, my first reply to an ++LP post! (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: ProjectX thoughts and beyond

Sorry for any misunderstanding I may have caused... I certainly didn't mean charging the audience anything, but when I said entrance fee, I meant the competitiors pay a small amount to enter, which goes towards the prize. (...) My thoughts exactly.   Re: ProjectX thoughts and beyond

(...) I'd put some money in too! (Assuming I can figure out how to actually build a WORKING robot.) Jeff VW Chris <---- See mine says something funny!!! :) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Programming, NQC and the RCX

The only way I now around these limitations is to use an alternate firmware. LegOS is a true c environment instead of being "not quite c" LeJOS is full featured Java VM. Both of these give you full control over memory usage, so the number of (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) I'm SURE what you mean by that is that maybe it's not a direction you guys *want* to go in... (and there's nothing WRONG with that!!!) because there is no doubt whatever in my mind that your club is *way* beyond the skill and organizational (...)   Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) I think in the near future we should probably investigate something out in Etobicoke where parking is free and plentiful. There's also the possibility of a two day weekend train event. I'm not sure if we're up to the level of doing a train (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Programming, NQC and the RCX

(...) the (...) Well RCX 2.0 firmware give you 32 global+16 local variables, according to NQC docs. LegOS should give you a lot more freedom in memory usage, but I haven't try that yet. For the X project, I plan to use bit manipulation to store all (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Programming, NQC and the RCX

(...) 32 variables??????? That's all???? i need more! How do I get room for more variables??? If not, oh well, must modify and have *sloppy* code :( Dave (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Programming, NQC and the RCX

(...) Rememeber to count all local variables, since they are not really local in RCXCC. Total number of usable variables are 32 for RCX 1.x. But I think the compiler will give you error for using more than 32 variables. If it is during download, (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtlToronto 11 competition idea

It was on another RCX competition site years ago... A finite number of pop cans, painted black, are placed in an arena. The walls of the arena are white. The 'bot starts in one corner, whose floor is painted black while the rest of the field is a (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Programming, NQC and the RCX

K folks, I have a programming problem :( Here's the issue: I set an array of 16 (go figure) and I have a few misceelaneous int values (4 thus far) and I try to set up another aray of 16 and it gives me something equalling an out of memory error!   Re: ProjectX thoughts and beyond

(...) Absolutely. There will NEVER be an audience fee for rtlToronto events. It's a hassle I don't want to deal with. But a contest participation fee, well, yeah, that actually would be kinda cute. Maybe a real informal thing, sort of like the (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: ProjectX thoughts and beyond

(...) well....I guess it doesn't matter to me since I am the "official scorekeeper", and I guess that would make me the most impartial person. That being said, a nice set like that would probably encourage the competitors to win by all means, (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: ProjectX thoughts and beyond

(...) "lurkers" (...) Well instead of an entrance fee, that will discourage random wondering, why don't we have a 'contest participation fee'? Only people with competing robots should pay that 5-10 bucks. 3800 does sound like a nice idea! ummm... (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
