(...) Based on these results, and adding a third old gear motor, I get 0.8375 LB So, that leaves 0.1625 LB (1)(2) for sensors and parts. (3) the more I see it, the more I LIKE the 1 lb rule! beams and parts are not all that heavy, so 2 oz should be (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) All masses in pounds (stupid scale): RCX with batteries = 0.56 - 0.60 (depending on batteries) Two light gearmotors = 0.13 Two "old" gearmotors = 0.185 So an RCX with two motors is between 0.69 and 0.785 pounds. Not a lot of room in there. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Chris, Much as I hate to intefere with an imperial beatdown (and I hate it a lot) you said 500kg(1.1pounds)... 500kg=1100pounds. You obviously meant 500g=1.1pounds though. Tim (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I think that's actually about 1100 lbs, not 1.1 lbs. But I could be wrong. That would be a pretty impresive mini sumo bot though, I gotta say. Can you fit it in a 10 inch cube per the trial rules? (without using neutronium plated parts, that (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto21 Tentative Ruleset Published

(...) 1 pound is not enough. Official "Mini-Sumo" rules allow robots that are up to 500kg (1.1lbs). It's barely possible to make a Mini-Sumo with LEGO. That means using just 2 motors, 1 RCX, and a couple wedge pieces. 2lbs is a really good weight (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto21 Tentative Ruleset Published

(...) I think this is a pretty good idea. This way people with have to think of new strategies, other than having the heaviest robot, so it can pull everything including the other table. So I'm for this idea of a low weight limit. Vitali (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto21 Tentative Ruleset Published

(...) While I think the idea of different class's is a good idea, I dont think we get enough robots to warrant a game for each class. I've read all the ideas, and it looks like people are pointing to a logical weight limit. This begrudgingly makes (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
