(...) Is it possible to make the blocks the other way: TILE BRICK PLATE ?? It makes it easier to handle the blocks as they don't have a significant concavity on the bottom that way. -Rob A> (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Maybe one should start by asking all the people who have entered past block-stacking events... Then, ask Dave if grabbing a 2x2x2 cube is harder than a 4x4x4 cube (used in past events) From my experience, I'd say block stacking is NOT an easy (...) (...) No, we need to beat the horse. Beating the horse is part of the process, the discourse is required. Your comments are appreciated. (...) So, scenarios with the posted ruleset for home are: Pile of unstacked bricks in home: No points. Tower of (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto18 Draft Ruleset Posted

Sorry, I hate to keep beating this horse, but... (...) having a -1 for wrong blocks and +1 for right blocks should (in average) result in a value of zero for people who don't sort. So, there is no color bonus for blocks AT HOME, unless they are (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Now that you mention it, it should be the sixteenth then, shouldn't it? (...) Yeah, that would make more sense... (...) Well, what I read from everyone here was that we shouldn't impose a penalty for NOT sorting, but only to give a bonus to (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) While the concept is solid, I think the math is lacking. With the above numbers, rtl3 would be the 3-3= 0st robotics contest. :) It looks like rtl4 was the first. Ignoring all that my suggestion would be to remove the whole "fifteenth contest (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) In the words of Biz Markie: "Oh, snap! Guess what I saw?" Good catch :) That's what happens when you cut and paste too much. At least I made some nice diagrams. I didn't even have to ask JohnG or JeffVW to do the LDraw...I did those myself! (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Yeah, okay, it's confusing. Blame Chris. (for no reason) rtlToronto3 was the first robotics contest. 18-3 is 15. That's all. Calum (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Faster than Chris can say "Seven Layer Burrito" here's the rtlToronto18 Draft Ruleset for February 2005: (URL) think we're pretty much in as much agreement over the main aspects of the rules. However, I need your help to find any potential problems, (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  8865 and 8475

So why did I want to get the hubs and the rubber to stick together on the old large Technic tyres? After a very successful 8448 and 8475 merge, and a mostly successful 8466 and 8475 merge, I decided to have another go at it. Thought about the 956 (...)
