  Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) Yes I will. Watch out! Rob (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) Naw, this sounds dumb. You would have to make lines so the robot knows where a corner is, etc. Now if we had an oval track with banked turns, that would be cool :) Rob (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) do you guys hear something??? I thought I heard a sound coming from way over there.... naw, I guess I could be wrong. Chris post # 12 to getting RTl back in the swing of things. now we just need to find cow-dice. DAVE, where are you!? (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) You might want to consider having two 90-degree turns, in opposite directions (so that you finish traveling in the same direction in which you started). That way both contestants (assuming there are only two at a time) will have the same (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Racing in drag

I know how much you guy value my opinion, so I thought I'd offer a suggestion which would prevent rtl 17 from being a totally lame event. Most of the rtl events are more a question of "Can you accomplish this task?" not "How well can you accomplist (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) Thanks Rob! (...) It's your typical "Heartland of America" Monster Truck/Drag Racing/Motocross (or in this case, Awesome Cross 98) announcer call: (URL) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  O'Canada!

Fellow Canadians, After seeing a large scaled Mountie in "Brickbaron's" Brickshelf folder for the Vancouver Road Show, I was compelled to build my own, but to the same scale as set 3723 (LEGO Mini-Figure Sculpture). Regrettably, his staff with a red (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca, lugnet.build, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.vlc, FTX) !!

(...) on a (...) competition. (...) You're gonna do a drag racing robot, right?! :D "SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!"* You know what? I realised after playing with Calum's robot that I love those huge original supercar tyres. Iain *-The only time I have (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) Nice job on the video Calum. I'm sorry I missed this event. I was working on a rope climber until I realized I would be out of town during the competition. Congrats Iain on your win. Your robot looked very polished. Rob (20 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) I don't expect either of those to happen. I have a robot that has entered several line following events: (URL) this: (URL) it was able to follow a line at over 80 cm/s. Assuming the course is 400cm (or ~13 ft) the whole race would only take 5 (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) I think we should do this on all our competitions anyway (the 5-second delay). It seems to allow for much "cleaner" starts and less fumbling/tripping up. (...) Kinetic Potential... Potentially Kinetic! Let us know, we wanna start building this (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: THE EDGE -- too fast

(...) My guess is we *can't* guess, because we don't know the length of the track. :) Iain (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: THE EDGE -- too fast

(...) Really I don't think we need to see Steve in his "Drag" games. Derek (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) no where does it say it ~HAS~ to be a car. it can be any autonmous vehicle. heck if you can build a fast walker; it would be allowed. (...) let me think about this.   THE EDGE -- too fast

OHHHHhhh...hhh this looks good. do I hear anti-x times anyone??? my guess is 3 seconds. Steve, how about a link to your past drag game, so we know what to expect? (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) Ah, so you'll be entering? Excellent. See ya at the finish line! (1) Iain (1) When you arrive there 5 seconds after me, or as you blow past it and smash on the floor. (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) This is great. I haven't actually done any work for this event, but my entry is almost finished! (1) Of course, I kind of lucked out, because our club did drag racing just two weeks ago: (1) (URL) I just need to work on the software. Wait, I (...)   Re: RTL 17 -- THE EDGE

(...) How about a Peppy Donkey? (...) :) Roman wants to know if it's okay for him to build a drag-motorcycle (instead of a car). He also wants me to ask if we can have a 5 second delay from when you press "Run" to when the competition actually (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) Cool!! That was fast, I assume mostly because of your new computer. :) I tried editing some stuff the other night and gave up in a flury, because every time Premiere tries to render something, it crashes the MOMENT my PC tries to do something (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) I think that's the norm. More than once I've had something built and ready to go at home, that seemed to work just fine... only to find out that in reality, something goes awry, for no reason whatsoever! But, I don't think this is common just (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
