  Train2 Modules

Well, I picked up all the 1x2's and plywood to build 3 modules today. Hopefully can get them together before we head out to Windsor on Thursday. If they go together well, I will get enough for 3 more, and then hopefully I can get my mountain (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

  Re: Train2 Modules

(...) nice...I hope that mountain idea works... I am trying to integrate a pair of level crossings into my layout, but it will be next to impossible to get an optimal look. The problem is my LRT trasnsit loop around my layout. I did a rough look at (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train2 Modules

(...) Well that's incredible news! I'm so glad to hear ParLUGment is bringing modules! The position on the layout is not really a problem. Apart from the corners (ie, JeffE, JeffVW and myself) the rest is relatively rearrangable to fit however many (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

  Re: Train2 Modules

Well, I think I better scale myself down and go for 3 modules instead of 6. I'll try to fit our stuff into the 3 remaining modules in the lower right of the layout. If I had money and time to spare, I'd go ahead with my grandiose mountain layout, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train2 Modules

I hear you - I'm working on my third mountain module and *gosh* it uses up a lot of bricks. I'd love to discuss building tips with you at train2 - there's got to be a better way... Jeff E (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Ack! Dimensions? (was Re: Train2 Modules)

Well, I cut all my 1x2's to the correct length, sanded them all down and the plywood too, and then went to put them together. Doh! Who would have guessed that a 1x2 was not really a 1x2? It's actually only 0.75x1.5!?!? This might not come as a (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train2 Modules

Yeah, I'd love to chat about construction techniques, etc. I can just imagine how many bricks you're going through right now. That was a pretty impressive layout you outlined on Brickshelf. Have you got any more pictures to tease us with? Play well. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train2 Modules

(...) Hi Tim, JeffVW I believe is doing the corner OpenC1. I should put out a new module map with that change, but you can still take three modules without the corner, there'll probably be balancing out on the other side. I should probably ask (...)   Re: Ack! Dimensions? (was Re: Train2 Modules)

(...) 1x2's are not 1" x 2", yes, and Iain would probably chime in with how stupid Imperial measurements are if he wasn't on vacation right now. But your module should be: 3/8" (MDF or Ply top) 1.5" (middle skirt of 1x2" on end) 0.75" (bottom skirt (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Here are four I took this morning. The easy two modules are landscaped, and part of the village has been prototyped, but the Big Ugly Mountain Module is barely started. That's this weekend. (...) Very nice. I like the green hill. I'll have to order some bulk green now too. Look what you did. I was happy with dark grey, but now I have to go and get other colours too. Isn't LEGO great. Jeff, if you have something ready, that's OK. I just didn't know that it had been taken. I can redesign our modules to go around a curve and back to the outside again or something.
