Re: The 2001 lineup (list on FBTB)

(...) A good bet, but I was ALSO refering to your "Mercenary HQ Monsterpiece" (URL) I'm surprised your "release" thread (URL) isn't longer. A very impressive model, even if you feel you still have some finalizing to do. The flickering firelight in (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Heh... Sure. I'm willing to bet that what Steve's refering to is my prototype work for a Battlestar model. I'm in the prototyping & testing stage of building a 1/2 scale replica of the studio model for the BS:G. I'm guessing it will be around (...) Finally I "hear" someone else use my favorite Battlestar Galactica term - I don't feel so alone anymore. :-) I was over at James Brown's place last night, (trading some pieces) and you should see...   Re: Mailboxes vs. safes (was Re: Another parts request - thin walls)

(...) OK <grumble> Since their first use was mailboxes, I guess I'll let you call them that, ;-) but probably the best would be the more generic "container" or 2x2x2 container box" that the LDraw reference uses: (URL) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

RE: Mailboxes vs. safes (was Re: Another parts request - thin wal ls)

Appologies for not threading... The part was first used both for a letter-box in town: 6362, 6372, 6374, 6651 And for a storage box in space. 6823, 6844, 6930, 6951[1984] Also, it was released in 1983 I believe.   Re: Another parts request - thin walls

(...) I would not call them safes for two reasons: 1. that is a fairly recent use of the part, it is much older than the wild west sets 2. how many safes have you ever seen that have a slot almost large enough for a person to stick their hand into?   Re: Another parts request - thin walls

First, they are mailboxes, NOT safes! John, how large an opening do you have to cover with the clear pieces? I have quite a few of the thin wall pieces in clear, 4 wide 3 high (26), 2 wide 3 high (18) and 2 wide 2 high (8). These are the same type (...) (24 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) I think there were some of those in there, too. (...) I found 2 of them (but since I have 4 #6741's, there should be at least 4), but the safes are black with decorated green doors. (24 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)
