Most store checks by me are in that format, save the purchasing for the best
price with surgical precision.

Same happened to me in Big W Macquarie. We must realise that for Lego staff,
it's a job and job only and we would be viewed as an oddity at most.

More for it's resources, which just get better and better. The posts and
debate go here, there and everywhere, maybe not drawing in the casual
observer.

'In the know' jokes are all very well, but one of the main aims of the group
should be to grow, be productive, promote brick-building/sculpting and say to
people that it's an acceptable hobby for an adult. Hopefully one day we will
be numerous enough to express a 'presence' to one particular company and be of
mutual benefit to one another. If people get a bit iffy about a group's name,
they will not even bother with the next step of checking out whether they wish
to be part of it or not. I guess it's a marketing issue.

Too true. The perfect name hasn't passed my view yet.
As the STUDS group are meeting every even month, in the new year I will attempt
to organise events in the odd months, be they buildathons, shows in toyshops
or other activities. Any interested party is welcome be they STUDS member or
not. I will still be attending STUDS events, I would just like to be involved
in something Lego-related each and every month (keen, hey!). As it is, not
everyone can make every meeting anyway or should feel that they have to.
For the time being these alternate month activities can go under the SLUG
(Sydney...) banner for want of a better name.

Any opinions are always welcome.
