  Geometry problem

I admit that this puzzles me, but then again, it's the end of the working day. (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: X-Face: usage?

(...) Yep, but I seem to be the only one. In addition to Tim Rueger, that is. Tim, your images reads out clearly in my end. Fredrik (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  X-Face: usage?

Hi, Does anyone else out there use the X-Face: header (either able to view it or post it)? I think I've got it working with my newsreader, but I just want to know if it was worth the effort. -Tim (25 years ago, 13-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: New URL for Ed Boxer sites

(...) [snip] (...) This counter stat tool is just too cool. 23% of 63 hits to my LEGO sites over the last day were referred from a LUGNET URL. 46% of the 37 hits to my Opera Review site were referred from the Taipei Symphony Orchestra site (I guess (...)   Re: Normal to get e-mail 1 month after it was sent?

(...) It depends on your e-mail software. What are you using? In Netscape Messenger 4.5, for example, you can do View/Headers/All from the menu. If your running a unix e-mailer, you can also just save the message to a file and look at it with a text (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

New URL for Ed Boxer sites

I now have an additional URL to access my sites: www.geocities.com/~edboxer This would replace: www.geocities.com/We...ywood/9172 (note, this URL will remain active) I have joined GeoPlus (an enhanced version of GeoCities). Its actually a very good (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jun-99, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.publish, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Serial Connection Distance

Tom McDonald wrote in message ... (...) You should be able to get 25m, depending on the cable and speed. At 9600 in a clean environment I've seen two 25m cables in series working, but that is IMO pushing it. 115k will probably only go 5m or so (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Serial Connection Distance

(...) hehe, uh, yeah, uh, that's it. :D BTW, nevermind the question. I found out that it's a 12V connection to be used so it'll go further than I thought. I was thinking it was only 5V. -Tom McD. when replying, note that anti-spamcake has never (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Stunningly ignorant people

I just thumped one of our testers for forwarding me a warning message (obstensibly from AOL *and* IBM *and* Netscape) about an e-mail virus titled "It Takes Guts To Say Jesus" which, upon opening, will erase your (...)   Re: Podracers Guild?

(...) Mmmmm, why can't you access *most* Geocities sites? Is it a browser issue? Can't you use Netscape or IE or Mosaic or something recent? Is it a routing issue? Why some Geocities sites but not others? Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 11-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Serial Connection Distance

How long can a cable be that connects serial ports together before it has to be amplified? I've heard parallel port cables shouldn't be more than 6' TIA -Tom McD. when replying, please wipe your feet on the spamcake before entering. (25 years ago, 11-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Normal to get e-mail 1 month after it was sent?

(...) That long of a delay is very unusual. Does your ISP have any thoughts on where it all was sitting stuck? They might be able to tell you by looking at the SMTP message headers.   Normal to get e-mail 1 month after it was sent?

Today, I had received 15 e-mails, originally dated between the 5th and 10th of May! Most e-mail I recieve very quickly. Is this very unusual? What happens if a mail bounces, due to my mailbox being full, for instance? Does it go 'round and 'round (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

http case sensitivity (Was: Dacta Sets For Sale - 15% Off - New Sets)

(...) It's possible that the host name "WWW.GEOCITIES.COM" (which is resolved via DNS) is case-insensitive (1), and the directory path "/rodeodrive/mall/1994/" (which is resolved by the server's file system) is case-sensitive.
