Re: The Nugator Company Update - LEGO piece and set sales

(...) They do say "starting as low as $5 a image". Which sounds pretty fair for a lot of things -- I can make you some nice text with a few photoshop effects in about 90 seconds. (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: The Nugator Company Update - LEGO piece and set sales

(...) For web pages, :) yep. You can pump pages out a lot faster with Front Page than coding by hand... The pricing they list for web pages is probably pretty reasonable given that they're probably wanting to do people's home pages, etc., rather (...) (URL) I want to know is if the descendents of that organism, assuming there are any, would have the same growth patterns... Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: DAT Explorer v. 0.6.1

(...) Dude, you're ahead of me, I was going to suggest that as an optimization... so the more we pioneers explore these houses, the faster it will run for those who follow in our footsteps! Cool. Any chance for rendering slices of Datsville itself? (...) (25 years ago, 18-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: DAT Explorer v. 0.6.1

(...) Do you save the rendered images permanently, or just cache them while a single user is there? I'll have to go test this right now myself. -John Van (25 years ago, 18-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: DAT Explorer v. 0.6.1

(...) It's running on FreeBSD 3.2-RELEASE on a dual PII 333. The bandwidth for the explorer is in the noise compared to the scans. The CPU however could be a problem if several people render at once. It won't be a problem unless it gets slashdotted (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: DAT Explorer v. 0.6.1

(...) This is SO cool! Todd needs to put this on the resources page if it isn't already. Thanks, Kev. Much better use of your time (1) than resizing images and editing out tears and cropping blank edges. (2) This ROCKS. So you have the render engine (...)   A UNIX directory/path question

OK, here's one that I cant figure out but is probably elementary to you guys. I am working on my next Lego site and need to create a directory structure like; ---technica | -header | -index | | | 8800 | | If I am in the 8800 directory I know I can (...) (...) ?? are you asking me if I am a bot? (1) ?? is ther a word missing there somewhere? 1 - people accuse me of being inhuman but I'm just as human as the next guy, maybe a bit more if he's irrational at the time. (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: t7po autopick

I've been mulling over the fact that the term "t7po" is awfully close to "C3P0". And you're using "auto" here. Do you some form of bot (other than an automatic tendency to find typos, that is) or script? Assuming access to a decent spell- and (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Got it. I couldn't figure out how to add a swap *file* in Free BSD, so I'm rendering it on a Sparc5. It's still parsing... It's hovering around 820MB right now.
