Help Needed with Quick ebay Test

[FUT lugnet.off-topic.geek so I don't clutter .auction] G'day folks, As you've probably read I've been having problems with search result data on ebay. Well I've just now determined that the "problem" is being done deliberately by ebay. In their (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

(...) I'll speak up in favor of the 800 as well. I love it. I took it as my primary camera on my honeymoon (to London) and got some absolutely incredible shots. J (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

(...) I couldn't disagree more. I *love* the swivel when composing shots from the LCD, which is what I do mostly. I wouldn't buy a digital camera without this feature. (And if you don't like the swivel, the Nikon 800 is still a nice camera -- most (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

As far as macro shots go (especially LEGO) I use the LCD for composing the shot, since that gives me an SLR effect and what I see is almost exactly what I will get in my shot. With any non-SLR camera, macro mode is near useless since parallax is (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

(...) Not if you have #7. I have a PCMCIA adapter for my desktop computer ($10 at the MIT flea; $50 online somewhere), and you can get $3 adapters for compact flash cards, and probably-slightly-mo...-expensive adapters for smartmedia. This is much (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

(...) I think someone mentioned this aspect of your search as being something that could mean you only need a puny camera. I personally think this is something that should make you look for the best quality, largest resolution, etc possible. Think (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Digital camera parameters: 1) use it to take pictures of my Lego creations 2) the pictures will be no farther away than 5 feet 3) they will not be printed out in any type of quality 4) they may go on a website (when I get one) 5) the camera must be (...) (...) Epson Photo PC 750z. Can be purchased for under $350, includes charger, batteries, 8mb card, and other useless stuff. For another $40, you can buy the card reader, all you have to do is plug in the card to download. I recently got my 750, and (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Free? Website?

Wow, Thank you all for your suggestions. I am *leaning* toward Geocities its small ad and a whopping 100 megs of space! That I *think* is what stood out from all the others. -- Kenneth A. Wow such a firestorm of info and opinions this is going to be a hard decision! I'm making a list of what I want to do with the camera and I hope that narrows things down. I will post that list soon. BTW Happy New Year! -- Kenneth A. Drumm Ph.D. the (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Digital Camera

(...) It's about comparative pricing: if any company included a 16mb card, their camera would be $25 less profitable than the other guy's. Plenty of reviews lament the 8mb card. Might as well sell the darn cards separately (but that risks alienating (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Free? Website?

I would suggest www.f2s.com . There are NO ads of any sort, and it supports advanced PHP, PERL, and MySQL. I've used them for awhile now, and the only problem I've encountered is that they are down sometimes. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Guys, Not that you aren't giving good advice, but remember this guys application -- posting pics of items to Ebay. He doesn't need Megapixels, 640x480 would work just fine. I'd look for a cheap 640x480 or 800x600 camera with a flash and a USB (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

The Nikon swivel head was intriguing, but I got a better one-handed operating grip on the Olympus. The right half of the camera is wedge- (...)
