  Re: Lego New is Up

(...) I can see the new & improved LEGO site fine with Netscape 4.7x under Linux -- but I thought I'd give it whirl with Lynx because I could always find the press releases easier that way. Problem is, when I try acessing it with Lynx (2.8.x), I get (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: FreeBSD/Linux

I don't know anything about that, but one related issue is that Linux does not yet have a journalizing filesystem which means that power failures can be a real pain, especially if you have to fsck a large disk.   Re: Uncle Bill's new toy

  Upgrading your system

I'd like to upgrade my MacOS 8.6 to MacOS 9, or perhaps X if it's compatible with iBook, which I believe it is not. Will an upgrade erase everything on my harddrive? (like reformatting?) Or do I just launch the installation app, install, restart, (...) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: www.ldraw.org

(...) Oops, you got it backwards. TTL=1 is the limit, you start at 255 and each router (or seconds held by router) decrements the TTL by one before forwarding. If TTL=1 the packet is discarded. KL (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
