Well, this is an example of horrific code, because it was purposely written so
that it would parse, compile, and run in two different languages ... actual C
code or Perl code is usually much nicer to look at and understand.

BUT, let it be said that IF YOU WANT TO, you can make horrific programs in
Perl because of all the special variables, default cases, etc. If you really
want to be confused, check out the obfuscated Perl contest :) Someone wrote a
program to print out an ASCII Mandelbrot set (a fractal) in only 2 lines of
Perl (might have been 1 or 3... I forget offhand... I was totally baffled)
