Can't understand the fascination with Scooby-Doo.  I found it tedious.
George of the Jungle was so much more entertaining!

Oops, raining on your parade.  Sorry.  :-)

What's the deal with this, anyway?  Outside of hardcore stoners, I've
never met anyone who actually like Scooby-Doo except in a vague, nostalgic
sort of way, kind of like the Flinstones.  I mean, does anyone have a
favorite Scooby-Doo episode?

First of all, when I was a kid, all of my friends watched Scooby Doo.  Those
same kids now watch it in college and there is a whole new generation of
kids that are watching it for the first time.

Second, while I will admit that I don't watch the show anymore, I can tell
you my favorite episode.  It's the one where they chase the guy pretending
to be a monster or ghost or whatever into a bubblegum factory.  I only
remember it because of the part where Shaggy and Scoob are hiding behind
some boxes of gum and Scooby starts to chew some gum.  When he blows a
bubble and pops it, Shaggy screams "Ah, they're shooting at us."

Now, I have NO idea why I thought that was so funny when I was a kid, but my
brother and I laughed for like 10 minutes at that and it still makes me
smile when I think of it today.  That's my favorite episode.

(...) Ditto (...) I preferred the Catanooga Cats. And the Banana Splits were pretty neat, too, though they weren't entirely cartoon.... Regards ROSCO (23 years ago, 1-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
