  Re: Credit reports anybody?

If you contact the agencies directly the fee is 8 bucks. If you first get turned down for something because of a report, the fee is free. Takes a letter, though, in each case. If you call, you'll pay 30. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Credit reports anybody?

Fees for your credit report vary from state to state. In some states, you're allowed one free copy per year. But, if you were denied credit (in the last 60 days) the credit reporting agency, who's report on which the the denial was based, is (...) (25 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) I remember hearing that. (...) I've heard that too. (...) Yeah, some of the web sites I came across looked suspicious. It was suggested in an earlier post I contact my bank. I think I'll do that and see what they have to say. I really feel no (...) (25 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) The reason? They "own" your records, and you leaving with them is tantamount to theft. Just for fun: try touching your file the next time you have an appointment! Beth (25 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Credit reports anybody?

(...) Maybe. Their justification for charging me a buck a page was they had to pay their employee to do that. I asked if the employee made $60/hour since I figured he or she could probably copy a page per minute at minimum. Didn't appreciate the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Credit reports anybody?

(...) I've been faced with this insanity twice. Once I had to convince a doc-in-the-box clinic to give me x-ray films to take to my real doctor. They eventually agreed with the provision that I would bring them back next time I was near. I figured (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
