Is. Although he won election(1) as a Republican (he was one before he
converted) I wouldn't read too much into that. But I fail to see the
connection. Libertarians are pro freedom. That doesn't mean being anti
crime, but it does mean valuing privacy and freedom above "law and
order"
Paraphrasing Ben Franklin: "Those who give up freedom in exchange for
order shall soon have neither"
1 - to be precise. Ron was a Republican. He was in the House. He decided
to become a Libertarian. He ran for President, which meant giving up his
house seat. Subsequently (since he didn't win) he once again secured the
Republican nomination and won election to the House from his old
district.
