Anyhow, the point that I seem unable to make is that simply reprinting
it adds nothing. It merely serves as propaganda. No doubt there is
a great deal of truth in the report. But the commission is made up
of people, and as such theyre all biased in some way. What truths
did they leave out? What facts did the reporters omit and why? If
youre not asking these questions then you dont posess the whole
truth either.

Youre blurring the issue. The Bush administration made and continues to make
claims and accusations regarding the known ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and
those claims were used to justify the war that has resulted in over 800 American
deaths, thousands of American casualties, and untold thousands of deaths among
innocent Iraqis.
It is not the intent of the commission to debunk every false claim made by the
administration. Instead, the commission has shown that, based on the evidence
available prior to the invasion of Iraq, no credible link existed between
Saddams Iraq and Al Qaeda. Members of the Bush administration, including
Cheney and Powell, continue to assert they know a link exists, despite all
evidence to the contrary. This is faith based defense policy at its finest.
The burden of proof is on the Bush adminstration to demonstrate that the link
existed; they are the ones who made the accusation, so they are in essence the
prosecution in this case. Many Republican legislators, and certainly the
administration itself, have spent many months working to conflate Saddam Hussein
and Osama bin Laden. Its therefore up to them to provide the proof; otherwise,
they must accept the consequences of their deceit and/or error.
And they cant simply continue to blame Tenet, the Liberal media, or Clinton.
Dave!
