Meccano isn't really Meccano any longer - the UK company went broke(?), and
the product was sold to a *French* company.
As far as I've seen, they have gone into making sets instead of universal
building boxes - and they have *plastic* variants too :-(
I don't have any real Meccano of my own, only the Swedish clone 'Teknik', and
I think Technic Lego is much better/easier to use (although I spent many hours
with Teknik as a child)

I have a 6A book from my dad's stuff, as well as having read a fair number of the meccano magazines over the years. I have up to #3 set, and some (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)
