We've had these in Europe for about 15 years now.
Police love them, frees them up to catch proper criminals.
Motorists hate them, obviously!
The ones in the UK are an interesting story. When the 1st
Gatso's (manufacturer) were installed, they thought they had
enough film inside to last for 6 months. Didn't last 6 hours!
Speeding is so endemic, that on the motorways, where the limit
is 70mph, the police don't even bother with stopping anyone
unless they are going 90 or more! The same with the cameras,
they are set at a higher speed limit, otherwise the courts
would be tied-up dealing with speeders only!
