  Re: Cyborean Fighter

(...) Dave, Dave, Dave. There is no sensor technology sensitive enough to detect humor in a Pauly Shore routine. Although, I hear his routines are quite popular amongst Vorgans (of Galactic Hitchhiker fame). I think that the ship fits well with the (...)   Cyborean Fighter

Here's an apocryphal addition to Mega Bloks' long-defunct but still cool Planetoids line: The Cyborean Fighter (URL) (reverse view) (URL) Constructed entirely of Mega Bloks elements, many with direct LEGO equivalents. The sensor disc just behind the (...) (16 years ago, 6-Jul-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: FOTW

(...) Way to go Dave! The day you posted this I found some containers of LEGO parts at a yard sale. There were also a couple of containers of Mega Bloks I was forced to buy because I could see some LEGO hull pieces in a container of MB ships, and I (...)   (New) Aluminum 2x4 Brick keychains

Several years ago, in a computer controlled machining class, I designed my first clone brick--in aluminum. The bricks are exactly the same size as the offical thing, and work pretty well with each other or with "the leading brand." Mostly it was a (...)   Re: A big ol' garage

(...) This now begs the question, how many ldu's long is a matchbox car, and do they make trailer trucks and fire engines in matchbox scale. The garage looks like a modern firestation garage, after all. (17 years ago, 1-Mar-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: A big ol' garage

(...) Well of course you need a chimney- wouldn't be safe to drive that many cars inside without one. Then you need steps, so you can go clean out the soot. (17 years ago, 29-Feb-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  A big ol' garage

We own about 300 of the Mega-scale Mega Bloks, which my 4-year-old enjoys, particularly when they can be used to build structures for his Matchbox cars, etc. Anyway, here's a garage that we built and which I rendered in LDraw: (URL) It's larger than (...)   Kazi anyone?

Anyone got familiarity with Kazi, a mainland Chinese clone company? They print their name on the studs, and seem to use both lego and mb clone elements. Just received sets 6004, 5, and 6, Spider Super Man vehicles (translated at chariots by (...) (17 years ago, 22-Feb-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Are Brix Blox LEGO-compatible?

(...) Turns out its all in the way the channels on the bottoms of the bricks were made. Best Lock channels come down to the base of the brick, Brix Blox channels are the same width, but stop one lego stud length short of the base of the brick. That (...)   Re: While we're celebrating anniversaries

(...) This is indeed a cool bit of info, and I applaud the sleuthing that led you to discover it! The only down side, as far as I can tell, is that there's no way I'll ever be able to assemble anything close to a comprehensive listing of their sets (...)   While we're celebrating anniversaries

While we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Lego system, it is appropriate to note and give a cheer here that Enlighten is celbrating their 45th year of toy manufacture, proudly proclaiming their quality control, that parts manufactured in (...)   Re: Heads up, Cloneophiles

(...) I second most of Arne's opions, especially about curiousity. But still I'm some kind of purist, but not all the way. Yes, it's contradictional, just like I am. The Purist in me states: "Thou shalt not hack LEGO!". So I use clones for Milliput (...) (17 years ago, 16-Feb-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Are Brix Blox LEGO-compatible?

(...) Holy moley! Where were you six years ago when I needed you? Anyway, I love how you worked this out. I've never before thought of using one brand as a bridge between two others in this way. Very cool! Dave! (17 years ago, 15-Feb-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Are Brix Blox LEGO-compatible?

(...) Strangely enough while brix blox don't lock with lego, they do lock with classic style best lock, which in turn locks fine with lego. Thus if you want to build a wall using perspective, you can do the lower courses in brix blox, run a layer of (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jan-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Snap blocks

Anyone out there familiar with another lego clone, snap blocks? I've got a large mixed bulk set coming my way with at least one snap block set, looks like a creator style lego helicopter. Any info welcome. (17 years ago, 11-Jan-08, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Toppo brand clones

Is anyone out here familiar with the Toppo brand of clones? I have recently come into the possession of quite a few slopes by this company...they are fully compatible with old style best-lock, which means their studs will accomodate lego system (...)   Re: Heads up, Cloneophiles

(...) If asked 3 years ago, I would have agreed, but with the recent TLG production outsourcing, I've had too many bad experiences with regards to colour to find LEGO superior. Whereas most clones are of poor quality, some are catching up and are at (...) (17 years ago, 4-Dec-07, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Hello John, (...) I stand with some of the other respondents; cool themes, interesting solutions (elements) for building. There is one thing that others who have responded haven't addressed, that the other block companies are just as ridged in their (...)   Re: Heads up, Cloneophiles

(...) LEGO is of superior quality only as it pertains to the actual plastic stock, and this is becoming less true with each passing year. The main reason that I buy clones is because of the set designs and the alternative part inventories. (...) (...) (17 years ago, 29-Oct-07, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)
