David, now adays, clutch problems are the result of a sculpture pushing the envelope of the elements capacity, not poor manufacturing standards. Lego, MB and the Cobi version of Best Lock are now all identical in plastic quality and manufacture. Try building the pirate and parrot sculpture set being sold now as a Legoland California exclusive design. The artists vision is excellent, it is a nice looking 6 inch tall pirate and a gorgeous parrot made with very few pieces. But the thighs barely clutch the hips, and if you drop the figure from the table to a carpeted floor, you’ll just have “a pile of limbs”.
