Second, the bricks arent as low quality as you probably think, and many of
Mega Bloks designs equal or exceed those of LEGO. Yes, Mega Bloks makes
considerable use of BURPS and POOPS, but the ProBuilder line showed the
remarkable versatility of conventional bricks, far beyond anything that LEGO
was doing at the time.

Gonna have to disagree with you whole heartedly on the quality of Mega Bloks.
When the MB Dragons line first came out, I bought several sets, being a dragon
fan. I put the sets together and they look good, even if they are built out
of GIGANTIC pieces.
The sets came with some 2x4 bricks as well. I tried to put them together -
some did, some didnt. A few of the 2x4 bricks wouldnt stay together - there
was no friction between them at all. Other bricks were so hard to put
together I had to put my entire body weight on them to click together - only
to later have to use a pair of pliers to separate them. Mind you these were
bricks bought from a brand new, undamaged set.
One set I had put together popped apart on its own. Literally. It was
sitting on my desk and without touching it, bumping it, no severe temperature
changes, no wind, no external forces whatsoever - the bricks litterally popped
apart and the set collapsed in on itself.

Yes sadly the Dragons and Pyrates Mega Bloks lines are some of the worst quality
they have done. Its not because of the juniorizedness of the sets either. For
some reason the part quality is no where near as good as Mega Bloks more brick
based lines like the Pro Builder sets or the Warriors Future Force sets.
Obviously those are still not as good as Lego but you can actually build with
the parts from those sets rather well.

No, Mega Bloks are of inferior quality to LEGO. Ive never had a new LEGO
brick act any differently than any other brick in my collection.

That is why Lego is worth paying for.
