Bad News for Richard's Wallet (was Re: New Dragons Sets)

(...) Looks like there are a few additional Dragons sets on the near horizon. Check them out here: (URL) see the "Wizard's Strong Box" and "Wizard's Sea Assault" for starters, and then there are the "Summon," "Unleash," and "Bane" sets. Dave!   Review of MB 9962

Before I get started, I just noticed that the MegaBloks website has been updated to include several new products in the (URL) ProBuilder line,> not to mention the Nano stuff that Jeff discussed (URL) here.> Jeff also mentioned the 9962 jet, but I'll (...)   Re: new nano

(...) Hi Jeff! I briefly (URL) mentioned> these sets previously, but I didn't have very complete or thorough information. Thanks for the detail and for the news re: the 300 piece set. Dave! (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: new nano

sorry to reply to my own post, but the 4 new racers are seen here: (URL) new nano> I did not see the 300 piece set I got, though. Jeff (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  new nano

I saw new Megablocks Nano sets today; 4 new cars with extra engines & headlight pieces to customize your car-apparently the bottom of the cars light up to simulate neon under cars; AND a 300 piece 'build station'. the coolest thing was the new nano (...)   10 lbs of Mega Bloks tan parts

I have said amount in a tub free for anyone who wants to pay postage. I find it hard to throw stuff away, even MB. But it goes in the trash before the end of the year if no-one wants it. It comes from the tank sets. I am keeping just the wheels and (...) (20 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New Dragons Sets

(...) Is that the one with the piston-based "ice breath" system? If so, my local Value City has a few on the shelves for $19.99 (a minor discount, but at least it's something.) Hope this is of use! Dave! (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: PCS Edventures partners with Mega Bloks

(...) (URL) can a product line that PCS Edventures successfully launched based on the quality of LEGO materials and technology of the RCX be converted to Mega Bloks material? LEGO may have dropped out of the relationship, and they sought a (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Lego loses legal battle with Best-Lock in Germany

(...) I saw that press release and couldn't decide whether to mention it here. I don't know if those of us in North America will see much impact from this, but anything that makes a stronger brand would seem to be a benefit in the long run. For that (...)   Re: Lego loses legal battle with Best-Lock in Germany

(...) MB issued a press release about this as well: (URL) a relatively slow loading PDF. Unfortunately I could not just grab the text but the gist is they are happy and they think they are going to do well.   Re: Is this a Lego part or not?

(...) It appears to be shredded pieces from several MB palm branches to me. Though some of them could be the ferns as well... Interesting use of the the "Semi-Lego" Galidor leg pieces as well. C-Ya, Rich (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.general, FTX)

Is this a Lego part or not?

Hey everybody - Need some help. I am trying to figure out if the ferns seen in (URL) this picture> are a Lego part or not. I have never seen anything like it so my guess would be no. But since I am not 100% positive I ask for your help. Thanks Mark (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.general, FTX)

PCS Edventures partners with Mega Bloks

PCS Edventures has partnered with Mega Bloks to be their partner in the education market. Presumably this means their BrickLab kit will feature MegaBloks instead of Lego. Longtime Lugnetters may remember Richard Wright (aka Weird Richard). (URL) (20 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) This gets more and more interesting. The only Oxford tank wheels that I have came from that 15000 set, and they're about as big as a LEGO 2x2 round brick. The MegaBloks tank wheels are somewhat larger, as shown in the third model from the (...) (20 years ago, 9-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) Nope, 'Shifty Bricks' becomes 'Brick Century' (or at least is affiliated with it somehow); whereas Oxford is an entirely different and independent company from Korea, think of it as the Korean equivalent of Megabloks if you like. As for (...) (20 years ago, 9-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) I wasn't sure if Shifty / Brick / .. became Oxford. I think I have an old post that listed a source for buying new Oxford sets, but they work out the same or higher priced than real Lego. Nice info on Korean Lego schools. The eBay contact I (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) Nope. Oxford is in Korea, and neither China nor Hong Kong's courts have any bearing. Also, aside from web sources who buy Oxford sets and then sell them second hand at higher rates, Oxford is not sold outside of Korea, period. I am not sure, (...)   Re: Brick Century Military

(...) From what Ben's Bricks wrote about the cost of custom molds, a Chinese contact seems to be the easier and cheaper route. Isn't Oxford the new Shifty? I don't think the bricks aren't protected by copyright. Didn't the Hong Kong court rule that? (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) Good eyes, Dave!! I don't own any of the 9707 Megabloks Tanks either but after reading your post, I sort of went to look at what I have and want to hear something interesting? Those wheels from Ed's picture (URL) here> look a lot like the ones (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) I don't have any Megblocks and only one of the John Deere Ertle/ Best Block sets. No comparison to Shifty. Shifty is Lego as far as the bricks are concerned. The axles and wheels are the weak link, not Lego at all. Look up the 1999 / 2000 Hong (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)
