Isnt Oxford the new Shifty? I dont think the bricks arent protected by
copyright. Didnt the Hong Kong court rule that?
I try and I try to get some community interest in getting a cheap source of
classic grey with little interest. Think about getting new colors. On and
on and on.

Nope. Oxford is in Korea, and neither China nor Hong Kongs courts have any
bearing. Also, aside from web sources who buy Oxford sets and then sell them
second hand at higher rates, Oxford is not sold outside of Korea, period. I
am not sure, but I think this is how Oxford escapes lawsuit from Lego. Oxford
has been around since the 60s. Only recently has Oxford launched many new
themes in an attempt to keep up with Lego which has recently been introduced
to Korean markets. Lego hit the Korean market big because they opened up
Hogwans, which are private schools, at the same time that their toy hit the
shelves.
In terms of the Korean educational system, parents have to pay for schooling
by tuition from middle school on. So, parents have a choice of sending their
kids to public school or to private academies. A Korean child can get their
GED equivalent from Lego (TLG). I worked across the street from a Lego
school, and yes, the kids learn often using Legos.
Oxford is having to compete against that kind of competition, plus Bionicle
and Harry Potter are huge there.
Now, what was that you said about getting the old grey in bulk? Im
listening.

I wasnt sure if Shifty / Brick / .. became Oxford. I think I have an old post
that listed a source for buying new Oxford sets, but they work out the same or
higher priced than real Lego.
Nice info on Korean Lego schools.
The eBay contact I listed doesnt have anything but complete sets for sale. No
bulk from there. He has some naval sets in light grey. I would like to get
some more interest going and prompt him for a contact. The contact numbers for
Shifty on the web are all old. Thier webpage is even pulled down. But by the
Lego press annoucement on that shippment seizure, many sets are floating around.
Possibly indicating current production.
I dont want to rip Lego off. I think that this might help legitimize these
vendors. Here are Lego compatible bricks in classic grey, the color Lego
doesnt make anymore, in non-copyright protected pieces only. Lets say 500
piece buckets $10.

Nope, 'Shifty Bricks' becomes 'Brick Century' (or at least is affiliated with it somehow); whereas Oxford is an entirely different and independent company from Korea, think of it as the Korean equivalent of Megabloks if you like.
