LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

Andrew Black covers some of the burning questions many people are asking in other threads in this article from yesterday's L.A. Times: (URL) relevant quotes: "We're redefining Lego," said Andrew Black, president of the company's Americas division. (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

In lugnet.mediawatch, Matthew Gerber provided us with: (...) If "it's not just about bricks" anymore, the writing is plainly on the wall. Amusement parks, lifestyle products, and now this -- all I can say is that the end must surely be near. I've (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) Dear Lego, Please fire this guy and hire someone who realizes that these kinds of products (Bionicle, Racers, Galidor, even the Throwbots) are the wrong direction for your company. You make great contruction toys and the best bricks around but (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.dear-lego)

Andrew Black (was Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article)

Some kind soul sent me what was purported to be Andrew Black's email address at TLC. So, I forwarded my last post to him. I'll let y'all know if he responds. What are the odds? -- Hop-Frog (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) Doesn't this statement from Black seemingly contradict information presented in this recent article: (URL) the company reportedly announced that it had, "pledged to refocus on its core product - plastic bricks - after a disastrous foray into (...)   Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) you know whats sad and my worst fear, is later in the year when these products arent making LEGO any money, the bricks are going to be sold for more to pay for the losses. i criticized LEGO before, and figured it was wrong, who am i to (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) I tell you what would be my worst fear, (apart from the entire company coming to pieces...no pun intended) - that these darned Galidork sets (you should trade mark that one, Tim!), along with Jack Stone, Software and all the other (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) When you're tired of the Jack Stone stuff, you pull it apart and build something else from it.... you probably combine some of your system stuff, because there aren't that many pieces in the smaller JS sets. The JS sets contain some good (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) first of all, i didnt write what you quote me saying, i believe that was cris, but i agree with him. (...) you cant, it sucks. which is why i dont buy that crap. (...) our point exactly! (...) and there you have it, "SOME". (...) yes it is, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) No, I think you'll find I quoted Cris, and said so, but I neglected to deleted the part of Cris's posting with your name on it (possibly in the same way that you accidentally deleted the bit at the beginning of my post which said "In (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Andrew Black (was Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article)

Y'know, since Andrew Black seems so keen to release lego action figures, I thought I'd help him out by letting him know that I AM willing to license my various creations "Steve and Joyce Ogreman -- Kraken Hunters!", and "The Gherkin -- Suicide (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) Black can shove it! I don't want a 'new' building system there was nothing wrong with the old one. I just want compatible parts, If you look at the computer industry you'll see compatability is everything. The old Technic worked fine just let (...)   Worst case scenario Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article

(...) You know I've been thinkng about this. If you neglect a line (like they've done with technic) There's less product to buy, so you cut down the appeal of the range because your left with so litle choice (Technic, take it or leave it). The line (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.technic)

Re: LEGO-Galidor Perspective In L.A. Times Article
