Do you have what it takes to design a cutting edge creation? Enthusiasts ages
5 and older are invited to submit an idea for a new LEGO creation. Develop
your new LEGO creation using a maximum of 100 LEGO bricks and/or elements.
Then, submit a photo or image of your creation along with a brief description
of your creation (50 words or fewer). You may build your creation using
physical bricks and elements or you may develop your creation virtually,
using LEGO® Design byME. See Official Rules for complete details.

im gonna say right up front that ive already submitted a couple of ideas to
this contest and i need it to be clear that i enjoy a lot of the products that
the lego group produces BUT does it seem a bit like this is a REALLY EASY way
for tlg to get a whole lot of ideas for future designs at relatively no cost?
(check the rules, whatever you submit you surrender the rights to.)
lately im seeing various signs of the company taking advantage of the fans and
at the same time losing touch with them. this latest contest is one more sign
that the designers are either running out of creative juices or the company is
losing faith in their designers.
let me restate that i love some of the great products that tlg puts out but i
sure wish there was a more direct correlation between their profits and the way
the fans are treated (rather than the lucrative contracts kept with disney and
lucas).
just the jaded opinion of a LONG-time fan (and watch the signs).
