Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

AS USUAL, the Bay Area is stubbornly refusing to drop prices along with the rest of the nation. I'd like to have a word or two with the Regional Coordinator for this area. OK, a few thousand, very LOUD words, many of them profanity. (...) -- Tom (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) Hey Tom, haven't we all on Lugnet learned by now that you don't draw flies with vinegar? :-) When I checked three Targets in Solano county yesterday morning only one had gone to 75% off. Unfortunately it wasn't the first Target I hit and I had (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

I just got back from a Target this morning. This was one that isn't as well-trodden as the others because it's tucked out of the way in a smallish town. I was happy to see a couple of Mindstorms accessory kits, but they were still scanning in at 50% (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  More Wacky Target Clearance

(...) ...And in the "always check back" department, I had a hunch that today might see discounts that were missed yesterday. I called a few stores and they vehemently denied that anything had been further discounted since yesterday, but somehow I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: More Wacky Target Clearance

(...) I had that same hunch and went back to a store (60 mile round trip!) where yesterday they vehemently denied that the sale prices would be coming down. I was thrilled to get two copies of that lovely color-coordinated set Dino Research Compound (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) As well it should: of the 3 Targets I've checked this week, two were down to single-digit quantities of sets on clearance, and the third was barely into the teens. Ditto for Wal-Mart. Why would they want to increase their losses when half-off (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) Oog. My Target only had the AAT on sale, and it was only $5 off. There were a ton of A-Wings on the shelf, but they were full price. I picked up three more Droid Escape sets, tho. :^) ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) Most of the Targets I've hit haven't even gone 50% off, though, or if they have, not on very many sets. (...) If I move, it will probably be to FL, which might make some people there wince ;-) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) Oh go for it Tom ;) We can meet at 8am when K-mart (or WM or target, etc) opens up and have coffee while counting our finds <lol> In fact, some of the WMs are open 24/7. Just remember, FL is (geographically speaking) strung out all to hell. (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

I live in CA, which SHOULD take 12+ hours to traverse N-S at the speed limit. Yet I seem to make the 450 miles from SF to LLC in 7 hours or less every time ;-) I've also made it from OH to CA in 2.5 days including a breakdown that blew half a day (...)   Re: Final Round of Target Clearance.

(...) Yep. You could head a little west and clean out Mobile and the Big Easy. Mississippi should be ripe for the pickings, as I havn't been out there yet. Ray (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: More Wacky Target Clearance

(...) I totally agree with this approach! I hit a couple local Targets this afternoon with some success. The first one had nothing. I mean no clearances. On anything. It was like Christmas never happened. Very strange... The second yielded a nice (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)
