I hadn't seen any announcements to this effect on the groups, so here it is: as near as I can tell, the retail chain of Caldors (New England area) is either going completely out of business or closing all of their stores in the Boston area. They might not WANT to give them too much shelf space, as the shelves will be empty most of the time. They'd be better doing an endcap or 3, stacking them deep and high, and refilling often. The price is not all that out of line IMO. Some foreign sets sell at 4 to 6 times the actual cost right after they come out. There is a Wal-Mart(1) near my house and they have nothing, I mean nothing on sale or on clearance. On a whim, I went to a Wal-Mart not to near my office the other day looking for deals and it also appeared that nothing was on sale. I scanned a (...) My local Walmart has a bunch of stuff thats been sitting at a variety of 20%-50% off, and _nothing_ has moved(1), if the employee's weren't so industrious, the Lego aisle would have dust on it. :) Some of (...)
