  US S@H Specials May 3 - May 9, 1999

Sorry, guys, I was out sick yesterday, my hands were too swelled up to type. They still hurt like heck, but at least I can type now. Play K6029 Playtheme Pack - contains polybags: 6902 - Space Plane 6791 - Bandit's Lookout 6029 - Treasure Guard (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-99, to lugnet.announce.lsahs, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-mart sale/3033

(...) No, I can't. If I had meant eBay sellers in general (I belong to that group, and you do too, I think) I would have said eBay sellers. I meant (and still do) eBay scalpers. I'd say after last night it is painfully obvious that a very LARGE (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-mart sale/3033

(...) You know, I get tired of seeing eBay sellers generally referred to as scalpers. Can't you just say eBay sellers? From what I've seen, very few buckets are sold whole (the obvious exceptions being the halloween bucket and occasional silver (...) (25 years ago, 3-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: eToys the cheapest way to buy Lego?

(...) Well, the cheapest seems to be Wal-Mart, in many cases. They often sell a few percent below retail, essentially covering the sales tax and there's no shipping. Still, for convenience, eToys is quite nice and I use it on occasion. I just (...) (25 years ago, 3-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  May 3, 12:01 madness

I might post a larger report of the TRU down the hill from me tomorrow after I wake up, but here are some quick thoughts. Saw ONE person out of the horde (150+?) that was crowding the front of the store who seemed to only be interested in Lego (...) (25 years ago, 3-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-mart sale/3033

(...) I don't see how they could have realized that, considering the fact that it simply can't be true. No matter how many buckets or piles of bricks you see for sale on eBay, RTL, here, wherever, I would be willing to be huge sums of money that the (...)   Re: Wal-mart sale/3033

(...) 3033 blue tub is still very common in the SF bay area. Even if TLG canceled it, it would take quite a long time for them to disappear in the channel. I find their decision to cancel buckets a bit bewildering - either they should put less (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-mart sale/3033

(...) 3033 blue tub?I've seen them at Wal-mart, K-mart and Target out here in Illinois.I bought some at Target in early March, and they still have them on the shelf this week. I've saw at least 20 on the shelf at Wal-mart today (some in the garden (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-mart sale

(...) Wow! So was 3033 for sale at 25% off then? 3033 is one of the sets that was supposedly cancelled, according to my sources -- it was 1200 pieces for $19.99 according to LEGO S@H. I know it was released to Wal*Mart for a special promotion, but (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Wal-mart sale

I went into the Mountain View, CA Wal-Mart sale this evening and saw a big red Lego logo hanging from the ceiling where you enter. I was pleased to find a wide selection of 1998 and 1999 sets at substansial discounts. Here are the prices of the sets (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Best-lock found.

I happened to be in New Jersey today for reasons I won't go into (I'm in Detroit at the moment in the WorldClub, typing away... if you travel a lot, pick a favorite airline and buy a club membership, it is so very very worth it) Anyway I was in the (...)   Re: LEGO in the grocery aisle

Didn't Kellogg's or someone have a promo for Lego sets? That might be the reason. I buy all my cereal at Sam's club. A lot cheaper, for the most part. Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO in the grocery aisle

Interesting - the Kroger grocery store around the corner from my house has had some LEGO sets in the cereal aisle (of all places) for a couple of months. They had a bi-wing blaster, an insectoid set, and a small Ninja set. When I first saw them I (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

  LEGO in the grocery aisle

Picking up assorted groceries at my local Hannaford store (Newport News, VA, USA) and what should appear in front of me but a point-of-purchase display box in the seasonal aisle with four LEGO sets in boxes. They were essentially boxed polybags and (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: S@H Canada Specials April 26-30, '99

(...) It was interesting to see the 3 and 1 car in this catalog. (...) Some of the backorders are in. I am still waiting for the gears and differential sets that I ordered almost a month ago. I have requested a new catalog twice now and I have not (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Not Lego, but good deals for parents

(...) I got a great deal on two DVD movies there last week. Both were 30% off, and I also used a $10 off a $20 order coupon, plus they were giving free shipping. So I got both movies for a total of $15. Not too bad. 'Course, I had just ordered (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: S@H Canada Specials April 26-30, '99

(...) Still had these today when I called. For those of you who haven't gotten a "Classic Favorites" catalogue yet, there's some great deals in it! (some not so great too, but whatever) Note: these aren't weekly specials, the prices quoted are good (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

eToys the cheapest way to buy Lego?

Just bought my Star Wars sets from eToys, no sales tax and only $7 shipping, so if you spend over $70 it's cheaper than Shop @ Home, especially if you buy the entire Star Wars line in one go ;) Matt (25 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
