  Target Clearances - 75% off

Hey all, Don't know if this is a widespread thing, but one of my local Targets (Ottumwa, IA; Kevin, there's your shot) has over half their Lego slashed anywhere between 50-75% off. New SW, HP, Racers, NBA sets, Orient sets, etc. Highlight for me was (...) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

(...) It depends on the set. When the catalog lists them as "NAIAS", at that time they aren't available in any store (well, any store that's not owned by TLC). Anyways, if a S@H exclusive set sells well enough, it might be offered to retail (like (...) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

Not available in any store, means that "not available in the standard dealer catalog". But enterprising people can always get that stock through other means, so it's most often a bit of a misleading statement. For example I stock quite a few 'not (...)   Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

Hello, I was just reviewing the new catalog and trying to determine what sets to purchase. I'm keying on the sets marked "Not Available in any store" at the moment. And I thought I'd ask the general shopping populace how often one can expect to find (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) KMart and KBToys been doing it on and off for years. (Not that The Big K is a sound business model in any case...) For that matter, so have a lot of other stores. Ames used to do it. Target (in my area, at least) sometimes does it. Etc etc (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) It's a legal issue. Trademarks are only valid if you defend them. And the only way to properly use a trademark is as an adjective. That's why you see things like "Kleenex(R) Brand Facial Tissues" instead of just "Kleenexes" in Kimberly-Clark's (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Huge Sale @ Atlanta LEGO Outlet

(...) The 4th of July sale (still running as of yesterday) at the MOA LIC has all the same deals so this is probably all of the US stores. Pickings are getting slim though. Happy bargain hunting, John #388 (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Clearly no one should be using reporters as sources for proper English usage. There should not be any presumption of competency there, just because they write for a living. (...) Yes,it does. At least in my view. (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Okay I never really understood why any one puts a big fuss, but I do understand where they come from. As far as saying Lego or Legos. There was an article in the Arizona Repulsive about lego. The reporter kept saying legos. I remember a number (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

  Fake LEGO sets on eBay

Did a search for LEGO CASTLE sets, and found this: (URL) a search for Lego Compatible and found a whole bunch of these fake 'lego' sets. All from Hong Kong.   Re: Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

(...) Personally, I never understood Lego's big fuss over the use of the term "Legos" for their products. (Or any Lego fan's big fuss, for that matter). They tried for 25 years (maybe more) to tell people to stop using the term, yet people still do. (...) (21 years ago, 9-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Wal-Mart in USA now sells "LEGOS"

It seems that in the latest round of in-store rearranging, several things have changed at Walmart stores. The ones I visited now have Black signage with white lettering that hang from the store shelving. The new sign for Lego® brand building toys is (...)
