I don't believe that there is another source for these images at the moment.
You can get the original images from my site at:
http://troy.simplenet.com/lego/partref/archive/
They are compressed into individual files by color, each archive containing
1,642 images. The BMPs will extract out to take up ALOT of space, about
1.5GB per color, so be warned. (Yes, even though they compress into files
of about 12mb!)
Also there you will find the same files in three different resolutions of
GIFs, 640x480, 320x240 and 160x120. They are also grouped into archives by
color. (These are still uploading at the moment, so give it some time.)
As for Brickshelf, I think it would be better to ask first before uploading
all of these, as they do take up quite a bit of space.
