(...) I don't use first class for that very reason. My current shipping policy is priority mail with delivery confirmation only, and I don't give the option of not paying for delivery confirmation. This sounds a bit suspicious to me. Lost 1st Class packages should be no more common than lost Priority Mail packages because they are basically the same service. The only difference is the weight category. 1st Class is charged by the ounce, while (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

(...) There is a delivery conf available on certain other kinds of non prio mail that uses the same fluoro green barcoded form. It costs more than the 35 cents add on. (85 cents?? Yes, it was Certified Mail she was talking about. Just got back from the post office to pick up a package. The base fee for CM is $1.40, and basically, they just keep a record at the post office of when and to whom it was delivered. "Larry (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
