|
| | /rant on Since this will be about a site that hosts auctions I guess it fits in best here. Well, I received a rather unwelcome surprise this morning. Some may have noticed Gene and I discussing the auction hosting service provided by DTRH.com - (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

| | | | You agree it's within the rights of DTRH to do this, right? Well, then, isn't it only an issue to you if Gene disagrees? Has he? ++Lar (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

| | | | | (...) Well, actually, it only becomes a disappointment if Gene disagrees, but, in my mind, it becomes less of an issue. I feel like I "know" Gene, so I would never think to tell him what to do. I'd respect his decision even though I'd kinda shake my (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

| | | | Mike, When I started The Brickyard on DTRH one of the things that drew me to it *was* the exclusivity rule. I felt that the rule would give me some breathing space to experiment and nurture The Brickyard into an innovative and effective site. It was (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Well, I think your thoughtful response deserves more time than I can give it right now since I'm due to meet my family at the hospital in just a bit, but I'd just like to point out that, to me anyway, this wouldn't have to be viewed as a (...) |
| | | | Hello everyone, First, I'd like to publicly apologize to Gene & to Mike for ( inadvertedly) causing an uncomfortable situation for them. I never foresaw or intended anything like this to happen. Regarding the 'exclusivity' policy - as I explained to (...) (26 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

| | | | Just an add'l note - maybe the exclusive policy was not a good idea - I don't know. It apparently doesn't apply too well to Lego, but I still think it would be helpful in many other situations. But regardless whether it was good or bad policy, it (...) | | | | | (...) I hope I've made it clear that I find this desire to stick to what you've said admirable. I don't agree with the specific application of it in this case, but a man (or woman) who sticks by his (her) word is okay in my book. (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

| | | | (...) You've got my vote for a businessperson with integrity. If you make a committment you stick by it, all right, at least for the categories in effect, unless you get a win/win agreement, that includes everyone, to make a change. Sometimes (...) | | | | | | My two cents worth Tim Baker
|
| | | | As a buyer, I'm not sure what difference it would make whether there were 1, 2, or 10 LEGO auctions on the DTRH server. I current track close to 20 sites that either sell LEGO products or auction off LEGO pieces. I'm not going to stop looking at all (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)
