  Re: "Buy The Brick"

Hi all ! I think he (Steve) made a good job in honest manner , one shouldn't hate him for "mistake" in advetising ! I guess you all know that prices fluctuate and his prices are summ of those fluctuations + I guess he didn't use eBay as only source (...) (24 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: "Buy The Brick"

(...) Probably. I know it's been debated to death before. I don't find price guides useful myself, and (perhaps somewhat cynically) have seen them used primarily as a useful tool by profiteers. (...) Well, I know that if I had received this, it (...) (24 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: "Buy The Brick"

Am I mistaken or have we as a whole (Lego community) tried to avoid a price guide!!?? I can see why the price guide..To make money.. and of course why not we all have to earn a living.. I suggest the heck with price guides and the heck with the (...) (24 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: "Buy The Brick"

(...) Don't feel bad. I really question whether the prices there accurately reflect demand and "real-life experience" market prices. I had a quick look over the Space stuff and some of the other stuff and it seemed to me that, in my experience, many (...)   Re: Did anyone else get this? - "Buy The Brick"

I think Steve got my e-mail address from a query I made on a price for a 4537. I have bought Buy the Brick, had it e-mailed very promptly so as to avoid international postage costs and am very impressed. It has saved me many hours of ebay watching. (...)   Re: Question on the value of Monorail Parts and 6347

(...) Sorry about that Todd. I knew that, but for some reason, I always think of that auction as so. I will try to remember that in the future. - Craig Livingston (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: Question on the value of Monorail Parts and 6347

Steve Chapple and I have had a rather spirited e-mail discussion about the value of monorail straights, curves and stanchions (the black risers). Steve values the straights at $10, the curves at $5, and the stanchions at $1.50 (he is valuing as a (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: Question on the value of Monorail Parts and 6347

(...) Reminder: That auction was *NOT* called "setZilla" (or "SetZilla" or "SetZILLA"). It was called the "500 LEGO Sets Auction." Thanks, --Todd (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Question on the value of Monorail Parts and 6347

Recently, in a Bigs Lots, I found two beat-up 6347s. The boxes were deplorable and open, but the bags were sealed. Despite the condition, I bought them at the $14 asking price. Considering the nearly ~$50 price (setZilla) for one 6347, I was quite (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Price for a 4537

(...) A reasonable price is $55/$60 for a MISB set. And, because I also like crosswords: MISB means Mint In Sealed Box and indicates a set which is new and still factory sealed. It is the best condition for a set. MIB means Mint In Box and refers to (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)
